Journey House is a Community of Christ Campus Ministry Center just one block away from Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, MI.
This beautiful historic building lives Christ’s mission by promoting a diverse community of students & leaders who live fully, grow personally and spiritually, and make a difference in the world. Up to twelve students pursuing post-secondary education live at Journey House in a substance free and community supported environment. Also, additional ministries and events sponsored by Journey House reach students throughout the Mid-Michigan area
Lansing Board of Water & Light, City of East Lansing and Michigan Energy Options have recently partnered to construct a local community solar park (www.micommunitysolar.org) and are now offering the opportunity for customers to help support renewal energy by leasing solar panels there.
This project will eventually pay for itself, we just need help to cover the $399 up-front cost for each panel. Then over the next 25 years we will receive credit to our accounts each month, based on the energy our panels produce.
Donations to this project will lead to three positive outcomes.
- First, reduced electric bills for the next 25 years frees up funds to be used pursuing mission.
- Second, solar power helps reduce emissions and upholds the sacredness of creation.
- Third, it will be a blessing to the community. A solar park helps customers who have homes that are not suitable for solar installations or may only be able to lease a small number of panels to join the project.
Our initial goal of $3,990 is for 10 panels but we could lease up to 30. So every additional $399 donated will provide an extra solar panel and help reduce our energy bills even more.
