Project Overview

Hello, my name is Nick Keehler, and World Service Corps has offered me the opportunity to volunteer this summer in England at Dunfield House!

While there I will be helping out with camps for people from all walks of life, including youth and church events, and contributing to the general maintenance and upkeep of Dunfield House. In short, I will be doing everything I can to ensure that visitors to Dunfield House have the best experience possible, and get a little taste of what God’s kingdom on Earth could be like.

While in England I will also have the opportunity to travel around to different congregations in the British Isles and share, helping to enhance my own ministry and deepen my relationships with others and with God.

While studying religion at Graceland University, I’ve learned a great deal about the importance of immersing yourself in other people’s lives in order to better minister. So when I learned more about World Service Corps, I immediately felt called to do it. It sounded like an excellent experience to put what I’ve been learning in theory into practice, and it felt like the next important step God needed me to take in my life.

I would greatly appreciate your support in this endeavor, which would allow me to fully immerse myself in service!

A note from the World Service Corps coordinator, Emily Penrose-McLaughlin:

I’m looking forward to working with Nick as a World Service Corps volunteer! He was selected for an assignment with Dunfield House (Community of Christ owned retreat centre) because of his background and interest in environmental studies, experience serving as a chaplain on his residence hall, and experience with camping ministries. Nick will make a great addition to the Dunfield House team and help create opportunities for the visitors to experience “how good the world can be.”

During his assignment, Nick will work with the managers of Dunfield House to learn about and support general operations and assist with several Community of Christ camps. Nick will also have the opportunity to participate in worships and gatherings with Community of Christ congregations and groups throughout the British Isles Mission Centre.

Your financial support is essential to help World Service Corps cover the expenses involved for this assignment which thereby enable Nick to volunteer. Nick has 30 days to raise $1,500. Please support his GoFundMission campaign.

Why support a WSC volunteer? WSC volunteers further discover and live out the Enduring Principles and Mission Initiatives of Community of Christ. Through Unity in Diversity, Blessings of Community, Inviting People to Christ, and more, WSC volunteers discover their sacred calling in discipleship and offer their giftedness in mission.

Thank you for your support in Developing Disciples to Serve Christ’s Mission.
